to offer Choral Evensong

Sundays, August 8, 15, 22, and 29

  • Refresh your skills after months without practice
  • Reconnect with present and former choir members, choir parents, former trebles with changed-voices.
  • Participate in a choral liturgy not offered elsewhere in August.
  • Join with singers from other choirs to share our tradition of Evensong 
  • Prepare for the resumption of your local choir

Who may join

All present and former singers of the Parish Choir and Choristers (including changed voices) with some choral experience and sight-reading skills. We also welcome members of other choirs.

The Service

Choral Evensong is essentially a simple service, but almost entirely sung. It comprises scripture reading, psalms, canticles, responsive prayers, an anthem and several hymns. The 4 pm service, open to the public, will last approximately 40 minutes.


All singers must be vaccinated. Masks are not required, though they are permitted if desired.


Thursday rehearsal: 7 pm to 9 pm

Sunday rehearsal: 2:45 to 3:45 pm

Evensong: Sunday at 4 pm

Post-Evensong hospitality will be offered at 4:40 pm till 5:15 pm 


Each singer needs to register. There is no registration fee. Registration allows us to plan music and logistics and track participants in the event of an health emergency. Singers are not required to be present for all the given Sundays, but attendance at the Thursday rehearsal preceding each Sunday is expected.
