The Evensong Choir
The Evensong Choir is an exciting new ensemble at St. Paul’s which affords an opportunity for passionate volunteers to share in their love of music by singing for regular services of Evensong & Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on Sunday evenings at 4:00 p.m.
Evensong, when we sing prayers and canticles for the evening, and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, when we express our adoration for Christ’s Body in hymns and prayers, are time-honoured traditions featuring music from a diverse treasury of appointed canticles, psalms, preces & responses, anthems, motets, and hymns.
Members of the Parish and community are invited to participate in our liturgy, learn and finesse musical fundamentals, and find community in a nurturing choral environment.
Ability to match pitch and read music are expected. Anyone interested in participating in this ensemble is encouraged to contact Monica Berney for an informal consultation. Rehearsals for the Evensong Choir will be held on Thursdays from 5:50-6:50 p.m.
