Week of 8.18.19

You’re invited to a Summer Picnic at St. Paul’s! Join us Sunday, August 25, 11:30am-2pm, following the 10am service, for food, drinks, and games. We will have hotdogs, potato salad, and coleslaw, and will set up indoors if you’d like to avoid to heat. If you can, please bring a dish to share. Get ideas and sign up at https://www.PerfectPotluck.com/IJME1809 (password 2430). We’ll celebrate the end of summer, bless the backpacks, and gear up for a great new year in Sunday school. Hats and picnic blankets encouraged if you plan to go outside! Please contact Gwyneth Zakaib gwyneth.dickey@gmail.com with any questions.

This year’s Music Gala will be on Friday, September 27th. Do you like to plan parties? Would you like to work with a really fun group of St. Paul’s people? Please consider joining the Gala 2019 Planning Team! We would love your help. Please contact Kris Brown Coleman at krisbrowncoleman@verizon.net if you’re interested in volunteering some of your time and energy to this great cause or if you have any questions.

Delivery of meals on Saturday and Sunday mornings: The Grate Patrol needs new recruits to help deliver approximately 400 breakfasts to homeless persons in downtown Washington each weekend. We meet at 5:45 a.m. in the church parking lot, load food and coffee into two vehicles, follow specific delivery routes and return in about three hours. Newcomers are accompanied by experienced “Patrollers”. This is a great way to spend time with fellow parishioners as well as to make new friends on the street. To volunteer or find out more about the Grate Patrol, please contact Glenn Marsh 703-622-6484 or gmarsh338@outlook.com.

Your gifts of non-breakable, non-perishable items will help keep local families fed. It’s an easy way to make a difference and an ideal way to introduce children to the importance of helping those in need. The donation basket is located at the baptismal font.
