The Land of Jesus
featuring Professor Ian Boxall
Wednesdays at 7:00pm by Zoom (October 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th)
One of our best loved and most popular teachers will return to teach a four part series in October, and by popular request. Ian will teach us about the Holy Land – to us a place of pilgrimage, but to Jesus the towns and villages that formed His home. Ian Boxall is currently Associate Professor of New Testament
at CUA; in January he will return to Oxford as Senior Tutor at St Stephen’s House (Fr Richard’s Seminary). To access the course, please click here.
Rector’s Book Study
an exploration of “Jesus: A Pilgrimage” led by Fr. Richard Wall
Tuesdays at 10:45am in the Clergy Office (October 4th, 11th, and 18th)
During October we are encouraging all parishioners to obtain and read Jesus: A Pilgrimage, by James Martin, SJ. Fr Martin approaches the life and ministry of Jesus from the perspective of his own Holy Land pilgrimage, taking us from town-to-town, and from the here-and-now to First Century Judea. We will offer three opportunities to meet and discuss the book, on Tuesday mornings at 10:45am, following 10am Low Mass: October 4, 11, 18. The book can be obtained via Amazon
featuring Drew Peterson
Sunday, October 23rd, at 12:15 pm
St. Paul’s parishioner and former Vestryman Drew Peterson spent two years living, working, and worshipping in Israel through his State Department work. Now Drew will share with us an analysis of what he learned during these years, and provide a 101 on the Arab-Israeli conflict and how things play out today. Join us in the Volunteer Room at 12:15pm (following the 10:30 Mass) on October 23rd. Those making the Holy Land pilgrimage are especially encouraged to attend!
