Music at St. Paul's
St. Paul’s musical heritage reaches back to the parish’s founding in 1868. To this day, the heart of St. Paul’s mission is the regular offering of worship complemented by a rich tradition of sacred music. Our choirs are the core of St. Paul’s music program, offering a rich variety of sung reflections and prayers at each service. Choral services include Solemn Mass at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday, Evensong & Benediction at 4 p.m. on second and fourth Sundays from September through May, and Solemn Mass at 6:45 p.m. on particular Feast Days during the week.
St. Paul’s often hosts concerts and special events offered by our musicians and by visiting ensembles and soloists. Lessons & Carols services for Advent and Epiphany are highlights of our calendar, as are concerts by the District Chorale, our
Ensemble in Residence. A full list of special services, concerts, and recitals is available on the
Events section of this page.
Visiting Choirs
St. Paul’s welcome inquiries from choirs traveling through Washington, DC. Substituting for our choirs at choral services, singing with us side-by-side, or performing Sunday afternoon concerts are some possibilities.
