The Choirs
The Parish Choir
The semi-professional Parish Choir is the principal choir of St. Paul’s. The choir sings at the 10:30 a.m. Solemn Mass every Sunday, as well as Solemn Masses on particular weekday feasts and holy days. The choir was the first in Washington to offer a Service of Lessons & Carols for Advent and the first vested choir in the city to offer a Choral Midnight Mass for Christmas; both traditions continue to this day. Its repertoire covers the breadth of Western sacred literature, with particular emphasis on Renaissance polyphony, music of the English Cathedral tradition, and works by living composers. The Parish Choir rehearses weekly on Thursday nights, September through May.

The Schola
As St. Paul’s professional choir, the Schola’s primary function is to support the work of the Parish Choir and the Evensong Choir. Schola members are highly skilled professional musicians from throughout the DC region.
The Evensong Choir
The Evensong Choir offers Choral Evensong & Benediction every second and fourth Sunday from September through May. This choir is a highly selective semi-professional ensemble that meets only twice per month for a short rehearsal before the service. The Evensong Choir occasionally joins with the Parish Choir for special events and projects.
